21 Aug The Big Let Go with Darcy Patrick
Author and mental health advocate Darcy Patrick talks about his new book The Big Let Go. Darcy talks about how he let go of control so he could gain control of his new life moving forward from his depression.
For 25 or more years Darcy was a professional bass player playing in many types of bands, teaching and making a living from music. At the same time, he was also working full time in a music store doing repairs to guitars and basses as well as managing the store. In 2013 the perfect storm happened in his life and pushed him over the edge. Darcy had struggled for over 38 years from depression and had to make a call for help which was one of the most difficult things he had ever done.
Since the release of Darcy’s book his life has changed dramatically. He became a public speaker doing talks all around Southern Ontario for many different mental health and addiction originations to raise awareness. His goal is to break the stigma behind depression and mental health and addiction, help as many people as he can, let them know they are not alone.
”Only with open conversation can we break the stigma behind depression, lets start talking and do it together!”Darcy Patrick
