The media plays an important role in forming public opinion and jouranists and their media outlets need to change the way they report on violence against women. Gillian’s Place – a shelter for women in Niagara – has put together a free online course on Responsible Media Reporting of Gender-Based Violence and Gendered Issues. The course dives into how much words matter and the ways media should report gender issues.
